Getting Started

How do I log a workout?
From the Home tab, tap Start Workout. You can choose a saved template, start from a Plan, or begin from scratch. Add exercises, log your sets with weight and reps, then tap Finish Workout when done.
How do I create a workout template?
Start a workout, add your exercises, and when you finish tap Finish + Save as Template. Your template will appear on the Home screen under Templates for future use.
What does the ghost text (pre-filled weight) mean?
When logging a set, the weight and reps fields are pre-filled with your last logged values for that exercise. This saves time — just confirm the numbers and tap the checkmark to log.
How do I set my weekly goal?
Go to Profile → Settings → Weekly Goal. You can choose 2–6 sessions per week. Your goal is shown on the Home screen ring and used for the Consistency metric in Analytics.

Rest Timer

How does the auto rest timer work?
After you log a set, the rest timer starts automatically (if enabled in Settings → Workout Experience). It counts down your configured rest duration, then vibrates to signal it's time for the next set.
Can I change the rest duration?
Yes. Go to Settings → Workout Experience → Default Rest Duration. You can set it from 60s to 240s. Individual exercises can also override this using the per-exercise rest setting.

Personal Records (PRs)

How are PRs tracked?
Trainix automatically detects new personal records when you finish a workout. It tracks four types: estimated 1RM (strength), max weight lifted, max volume in a set (weight × reps), and max reps.
What is estimated 1RM?
The estimated 1 Rep Max is calculated using the Epley formula: weight × (1 + reps/30). It gives you a comparable strength score across different rep ranges.
Where can I see all my PRs?
Go to Analytics → Personal Records. You can view your top lifts across all exercises. Tap any exercise to see its full progress history, estimated 1RM trend, and weekly volume chart.

Training Plans

How do I start a training plan?
Go to the Plans tab, choose a program (e.g. Beginner Full Body), tap it to preview the schedule, then press Activate Plan. An active plan banner will appear on the Home screen — tap "Start" to begin today's session.
What happens when I complete a plan day workout?
The plan automatically advances to the next day. Your progress is saved, and the next workout will be ready on the Home screen banner.
Can I have multiple plans active at once?
No — only one plan can be active at a time. You can switch plans at any time from the Plans tab, but your progress on the current plan will be reset.

Analytics

Why is my volume chart empty?
The volume chart requires Trainix Pro. Free users see workout frequency and consistency stats. On Pro, volume trend and strength progress charts unlock. Make sure you have at least 1 completed workout with logged sets for data to appear.
What does "Consistency" mean in analytics?
Consistency shows what percentage of your completed past weeks hit your weekly session goal. It excludes the current in-progress week. New users will see limited data until a few full weeks have passed. This stat is free for all users.
What are Coach Insights?
Coach Insights are automated observations from your training data — things like consistency, volume changes, and push/pull balance. They appear on the Home screen after you've logged a few workouts, and are available to all users.
Which analytics features require Pro?
Free: workout frequency chart, streak, consistency %, personal records list, and Coach Insights.

Pro only: Strength Progress (1RM trend per exercise), Volume Trend chart, per-exercise history, and advanced strength analytics.

Nutrition

How do I log food?
Open the Nutrition tab and tap the + button to add a food entry. You can search from the built-in food database, scan a barcode, or add your own custom foods.
Do I need Pro to use Nutrition features?
Basic food logging (today's entries) is available to all users. Trainix Pro unlocks: setting custom calorie and macro targets, adjusting activity level, viewing past days' nutrition history, and editing macro split targets.
Can I add my own foods?
Yes! Tap Custom Foods in the Nutrition tab to create foods with your own calorie and macro values. You can also bulk-import foods via a CSV file.

Body Metrics & Measurements

How do I log my body weight?
Go to Profile → Body Metrics. Tap + Log Weight and enter your current weight. Body weight and body fat % tracking are available for free.
What body measurements can I track?
All users can track body weight and body fat % for free. Trainix Pro adds full body measurements: waist, hips, chest, biceps, thighs, and calves — with trend tracking and progress snapshots.

Backup & Data

How do I back up my data?
Go to Profile → Backup & Restore → Back Up Now. This creates a full JSON backup of your workouts, body metrics, and templates, then lets you save it to Files, iCloud, or share it anywhere.
Can I restore from a backup?
Yes! Go to Profile → Backup & Restore → Restore from File. Select your previously saved .json backup file and Trainix will restore all your workout history, body metrics, and templates.
Will I lose data if I delete the app?
Yes — all data is stored on-device. Back up regularly using the Backup & Restore section to avoid losing your workout history.

AI Coach

Is the AI Coach free?
The AI Coach is a Trainix Pro feature. Upgrade to Pro to unlock GPT-powered personalised coaching based on your real training data — ask anything about programming, nutrition, recovery, or technique.
What data does the AI Coach use?
The coach uses your training statistics — weekly session count, total volume, movement balance, and current insights — to personalise advice. Your personal details are never shared with third parties.
Is there a daily limit on AI Coach messages?
Yes. Pro users have a daily message limit shown at the top of the AI Coach screen (e.g. "5/10 daily chats used"). The limit resets every 24 hours.

Habit Tracking

How do I add habits to track?
Go to the Habits tab and tap + Add Habit. Choose from preset habits (water, sleep, steps, protein, etc.) or create a custom one. Check them off daily to build your streak.
How many habits can I track for free?
Free users can track up to 3 habits. Upgrade to Trainix Pro to unlock unlimited habits.

Health & Wearables

How do I sync with Apple Health?
Go to Settings → Workout Experience → Apple Health Sync and toggle it on. You'll be asked to grant permissions. Once enabled, workouts are automatically exported after each session.
How do I sync with Health Connect (Android)?
Go to Settings → Workout Experience → Health Connect Sync and toggle it on. Make sure Google's Health Connect app is installed on your device. Workouts are exported automatically when you finish a session.
Why does HealthKit show unavailable on Simulator?
Apple HealthKit is only available on physical iPhones. It will not work in the iOS Simulator — this is an Apple limitation, not a Trainix bug.

Trainix Pro

What's included in Trainix Pro?
Trainix Pro unlocks:
  • AI Coach — GPT-powered personalised coaching
  • Full analytics: Strength Progress, Volume Trend, per-exercise history
  • Advanced training plans (intermediate & advanced programs)

How do I restore a previous purchase?
Go to Profile → Trainix Pro → Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in to the same App Store / Google Play account used for the original purchase.
Can I use Trainix on multiple devices?
Your Pro subscription is tied to your App Store or Google Play account and can be shared across devices using the same account. However, workout data is stored locally per device — use the Backup & Restore feature to transfer data.
